An example of Victorian English literature, A Christmas Carol tells the chilling but thought-provoking story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a grumpy, miserly, and Christmas-phobic Scrooge.
The ghost of Jacob Marley, his long-dead business partner and close friend, comes to Scrooge’s house. At first Scrooge thinks it is a trick of his mind, but then he is visited by three more ghosts representing the present, the past and the future. Entering into a deep reckoning with these ghosts, Scrooge embarks on a complex journey towards becoming a completely different person.
